About me
I’ve spent more than 15 years building websites. For a long time, the interesting part was figuring out how to build them.
Somewhere along the way, that changed. The more projects I worked on, the more the real question became what to build, and why.
I still build. That’s not something I outgrew. It’s still where a lot of the actual work happens.
From employee to builder
I’ve done it as an employee, inside agencies, white-label behind other teams, and now independently through Scripts & Styles, working with businesses, founders, and the agencies around them. It’s been one of the best educations I could ask for.
Building things for that long changes how you see them. The technical decisions still matter, but only if the website is doing what the business actually needs. These days, I pay as much attention to that as I do to the code.
The parts I enjoy most usually show up before any of that: figuring out what actually makes a business different, looking at a homepage and asking what it’s really telling people, or taking something complicated and making it clearer. Depending on where the gap actually is, that turns into copy, structure, design, or code itself.
At the same time, I kept running into the same problem on different projects: the same setup work, the same decisions, the same things rebuilt from zero. That’s what pushed me to start building products of my own.

What I’m building
Scripts & Styles
This is where my client work happens today: websites for businesses, founders, and agencies, sometimes under my name, sometimes white-label behind someone else’s. More here.
Themerson
Themerson came from rebuilding the same WordPress foundations project after project. I started building the tool I wished I had, something that handles the repetitive setup so I can spend more time on the parts that actually need judgment. More here.
How I think about the work
Two things guide most of the decisions, on client work and on my own products.
Simple over complex
Complexity creates friction, even with AI doing more of the typing. I’d rather build, and use, systems that get to a good result with as little effort as possible.
Own what you build
Technologies change, subscription models change, platforms disappear or start charging differently. I’d rather work with things a business actually owns and controls: its website, its data, the systems it depends on. It’s a big part of why I still build on WordPress after all these years.
I’m still building: client work through Scripts & Styles, my own products like Themerson, and the odd side project in between.
